Goughs Institute of Training is the training division of Goughs Caterpillar Business Unit. This dedicated fulltime training department specialises in providing support to not only apprentice mechanics and machine operators but also providing ongoing support to staff at all levels of knowledge and experience within company. The Institute delivers Machine Operator Development Training to the industry. As well as industry training the Institute provides technical training to Goughs staff and recruits Diesel Mechanic Apprentices for Nationwide positions. Goughs Institute of Training is accredited by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority to provide Automotive Training and the following Operator training to the following Unit Standards: - Civil Construction Works (levels 1-4)
- Civil Plant Operation (levels 1-4)
- Civil Construction Foreman (levels 1-4)
- Civil Construction Supervision (levels 1-4)
- Civil Plant Management (levels 1-4)
- Extractive Industries Management (levels 1-7)
- Road Construction (levels 1-4)
- Surface Extraction (levels 1-7)
- Underground Extraction (levels 1-7)
